Having been on staff with Jews for Jesus in various roles since 1978, Rich currently serves as Senior Researcher at our San Francisco headquarters. This means among other things, helping to write and edit content for our web site (a major source of interaction with Jewish people) as well as for publications. Rich also prepares book reviews, conference papers, and the occasional book that furthers the work of Jewish evangelism. In addition, he serves as a support to our missionaries, fielding theological inquiries on an almost daily basis from both believers and non-believers.
Starting this spring, Rich will also be part of our Haredi men's team. Haredi Jews are ultra-Orthodox, an unreached people group within the larger Jewish community who live insular lives within their own communities. Haredi men and women live quite different lives and are largely gender-segregated, so we have separate men's and ladies' teams. Quite a few Haredi Jews are leaving their communities, though, or considering leaving. There are unprecedented opportunities to reach out with the gospel message and my role will be to help in content creation to reach this subset and fastest-growing (due to having large families) of the Jewish community.
