| According to our spiritual gifts the body of Christ has tremendous variety. Think of the person with the gift of prophecy (who abhors sin and calls the body of Christ to repentance), and then consider the gift of mercy (one who rejoices with those who rejoice and weeps whith those who weep). Or compare the gift of leadership (one who can enable the body to work together to accomplish a goal) with the gift of service (one who longs to do what needs to be done and would rather be unnoticed in doing it). It's not that we are contrary; rather there is rich variety. ***1 Corinthians 12:4-6 "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministires, but the same Lord. And there are diversitites of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all." |

The Lord Jesus Christ said, " Abide in Me..." It is a command. What does it mean to abide in Christ? Primarily, it means to be occupied with, to be engrossed with, to be absorbed with Him. It is important to Him. It should be important to us who are in Him. How can a Christian be occupied with Christ? By reading and studying the Word of God always searching for Him in it's pages.
